Revelations in the Calm

When leaders turn to cowards and fall gutless to bribes.
When seductions raise the curtains and push virtue aside.
A holocaust is coming for all the pure in the world.
You can't use ignorance as an alibi anymore.
We could all bear the world, and fold our dreams to faults.
But when did hope fall short, and force our lines to crawl?
With real horror in mirrors, looking back with a smile.
And arsenals of words used to wreck start to pile.
A holocaust is coming for all the pure in the world and
You can't use ignorance as an alibi anymore.
So when hell is at the gates, who will stand and meet the waves
And take the fight to their graves to end the dark campaign?
It's the reason we have come to the forefront of this war
So heres the reason we have come, to the forefront of this war.

- Oh, Sleeper

Kings and Queens in history sent their people to die for them. I only knew one King who decided to die for His people.

TIA

I go down the street and I see people wearing nice clothes and driving fast cars.

I walk into a store and I receive a blast of cold air cooling me down to make my shopping more comfortable.

I get sick and the doctor tells me to go buy some medicine in the pharmacy around the corner.

I go to sleep on a comfortable mattress and wake up to the birds singing and the children playing; fearless and daring, safe and sound.

This is the life, the perfect life, without fear and worry.

This is the world, the perfect world, abundant with all basic and safety needs met.

Yet, people of this world are not satisfied. They walk with their heads down and let sadness engulf their hearts.

This is not my world.

In my world,

I go to sleep on the floor and wake up before the birds and children as I have to go get the water from the river to stay alive during the day.

I get sick and there is no doctor and there is no medicine. When I get sick my life is in the hands of God.

I go shopping in a bazaar with whatever little money I have, only to get robbed and mugged and come home with nothing.

I walk down the road as trucks carrying men with guns drive past me, not knowing if I will get picked up or shot.

This is my world, an imperfect world full of death, disease, and injustice.

This is my life, an imperfect life, yet ever so perfect.

With what little I have I am satisfied. I walk with my head up and let only joy engulf me heart.

You say, “FTW,” I say, “TIA.”

This is my world, a world where everyone takes pride in what they have.

This is my world.

This is Africa.
